“Giving is not just about making a donation, it is about making a difference.”

~ Kathy Calvin

Who We Are and Who We Help

Founded 13 years ago by former Cumberland Valley teacher, Charlie Brown, Kick in for Kids has provided over half a million dollars in assistance to needy students and families in the Cumberland Valley, Mechanicsburg, and East Pennsboro school districts.

We rely upon private donations, as well as two annual fundraisers to provide assistance to area students and their families. A dinner raffle is held in January and a golf tournament is held in June. Proceeds from these two events are used to offset the cost of services, purchase gift cards, paying utility bills, etc. Services from professionals in the community are provided, in some cases, free of charge or at substantial discounts.

We channel help to families until they can arrange long-term assistance. We work directly with school districts, receiving referrals from school nurses, guidance counselors, or administrators.

“No one has ever become poor by giving.”
Anne Frank
